A 28-year-old man from Ohio quit his job as a teacher to work as a store manager at Walmart, which went viral on TikTok.

The man worked as a reading tutor and second grade teacher for six years, he explained in a TikTok video he posted in July.
He explained that only the salary and working conditions pushed him to change jobs. At Walmart, no degree is required, but they pay better, he said.
“Imagine if our teachers could focus on their teaching work instead of juggling two jobs, working weekends,” he explained in an interview on the show. Good morning America, Thursday.
“I don’t want people to think I’m trying to discourage anyone from becoming a teacher,” he continued. “It is not like that. I want my teacher friends to be paid properly.
Goshorn’s original video on TikTok was only six seconds long. He can be seen showing off his Walmart uniform as a store manager. He added in the caption: “Leaving teaching after six years to become a manager at Walmart and make more without using my degree.”
Goshorn works as an inventory management specialist and ensures delivery trucks are unloaded. He said he makes $55,000 a year before bonuses and $43,000 for his teaching job.
