CAQ MP and candidate Marie-Yves Proulx is the subject of a new formal complaint of emotional abuse, this time about events after she retired as a minister, our Bureau of Investigation has learned.

According to documents filed with the Administrative Labor Tribunal (TAT), Laetitia Canova, former political attaché of Mme Proulx in Montmagny was the source of the complaint. She worked with CAQ MP from September 2019 to January 2020.
The employee was officially fired on July 26, 2021, the date of the “last manifestation of harassment,” according to documents still filed with the TAT and thanks to the Access to Information Act. Mme Canova also filed a complaint regarding his dismissal.
At this time, there is no hearing date scheduled on file. Contacted by our Bureau of Investigation, the alleged victim preferred not to comment as “the file is following legal process.”
The CAQ government also commented: “The MP currently does not have access to information regarding this file. As such, it is not possible to comment at this time,” CAQ press officer Mark Danis said via email.
Second complaint
One thing is certain, the CAQ has already undertaken to submit M’s candidacyme Proux in the general election to be held on October 3. The outgoing MP invested François Legault’s forces as a candidate in mid-May in the Côte-du-Sud riding, crossing the Chaudière-Appalaches and Bas-Saint-Laurent regions.
This is the second time M.me Proulx is the subject of a formal complaint of psychological harassment. In August 2020, his ex-district director, Christian Pickard, sued TAT for unfair dismissal and psychological harassment. The case was settled out of court in August 2021, in exchange for financial compensation drawn from taxpayers’ money.
He lost his ministerial position
In the wake of allegations of harassment against her, Ms. Proulx also lost her position as Minister of Regional Economic Development while remaining a CAQ MP (See below)
In May 2021 Prime Minister François Legault commented that “I am forced to the conclusion that she cannot be a minister”.
However, Mr Legault said he was reassured about the situation in the riding office of the member for Côte-du-Sud. “We will monitor the situation closely. We will definitely go and check because for me, it is non-negotiable,” he said.
14 departures and two complaints
The journal reported 14 departures In Marie-Yves Proulx’s entourage since she became minister. Former employees report on condition of anonymity a toxic environment of insults, harassment and threats.
The minister lodged a formal complaint with the Administrative Labor Tribunal from her former district director for alleged psychological harassment. The case will be settled amicably.
