Canada will impose new sanctions on 62 associates of the Russian regime and provide $3.85 million in funding to support two Ukrainian projects.

Among those sanctioned are senior officials of the Russian government, including Russian federal governors and regional heads, their family members, and senior officials of currently sanctioned defense organizations.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced $3.85 million in funding to support two Ukrainian projects under the Stabilization and Peace Operations Program, which provides assistance to the security of sector institutions in Ukraine.
Canada also wants to continue “countering Russian government-sponsored disinformation” by creating a special team to understand, monitor and identify this disinformation.
The announcements were made on Tuesday morning during a virtual summit of heads of state and government of the International Forum for Crimea.
