Gradual resumption of operations at Loto-Québec

Loto-Québec’s operations are gradually resuming and will soon return to normal, the government-owned company announced Thursday.

An update to the Loto-Québec system that failed on the night of September 10 to 11 stalled sales for a few days.

Loto-Québec indicated that its customers can purchase draw lottery tickets and check their tickets at all retailers, on lotoquebec.com and with the lotteries mobile application.

The outage at Loto-Québec affected many outlet owners in the province and left customers impatient.

“[Les clients] Not happy. They don’t respond much. Customers call 10 times a day to see if it’s working,” explains Nathalie Jolicoeur, Alimentation Jolicoeur store owner.

For retailers, the disruption at Loto-Québec meant they lost significant revenue.

“It’s an add-on purchase [pour nous]. Obviously, this is a good loss of income,” she said.

Yesterday, Loto-Québec was betting on a return to normal on Thursday.
