Young and fast
The Hurricanes and their young and fast team finally broke out last year with the best season in their history, 116 points, 4 more than in 2006, when they won the Stanley Cup. After a seven-game loss to Rangers in the second round, the aim was to reach at least the semi-finals, if not the final. They have the strength to do so.
There were some losses, including offensive defenseman Tony DeAngelo and second center Vincent Trocheck, but we replaced DeAngelo with Brent Burns, acquired from the San Jose Sharks, anxious to revitalize and reduce their bulk, and we believe in Jesperi Kotkaniemi. Vacated by Trochek.
