Airline WestJet plans to integrate Airline Sunwing into its operations, a company spokesperson confirmed to TVA Novelles.

An exact timeline for the integration of Sunwing into WestJet has not been specified.
“We are focused on integrating Swoop’s highly successful business model into WestJet’s operations,” the Calgary-based company said.
WestJet would like to assure: There will be no direct consequences for customers as a result of the integration of Sunwing into the WestJet air carrier.
Sunwing Vacations will continue to be part of the WestJet Group.

WestJet officially acquired Sunwing Airlines on May 1, two months after the Trudeau government cleared the deal.
In October 2022, the Competition Bureau raised concerns about a possible merger between the two airlines.
“The elimination of competition between these integrated air carriers and tour operators could result in higher prices, loss of choice and reduced service for Canadians,” the bureau said.
