Bad crops: Farmers again call on Govt

Two months after hundreds of horticultural producers asked the provincial government to provide emergency financial assistance to compensate for the devastating crops, many farmers are once again calling on politicians.

Along with devastating weather for crops this summer with record rainfall in some areas, producers must adapt to new standards to protect inflation and the environment.

Many farmers fear the next generation in the sector, as rising costs make it difficult for new producers trying to enter the sector.

That is why Union of Agricultural Producers (UPA) once again requested help from the provincial government.

In a press release published on Thursday, the UPA acknowledged that the government has worked, but according to the organization, the assistance is not enough.
