This was revealed by data collected by Kayak, a travel search engine.
Between December 1, 2023 and January 19, 2024, attraction to North America during the March holidays increased by 62% compared to the same period the previous year.
At the same time, trips to Fort Lauderdale, Florida are of more interest to Montrealers, with 88% more destinations in their searches than last year.
In addition, data shows that airfares fell 5% in the first week of March, and 6% specifically for international flights.
KAYAK highlighted a significant increase in Quebecers on trips during the first week of March (57% for flights within Canada and 32% for international flights).
However, it should be remembered that because of the Quebec Games, almost all of the province's children are on spring break at this time, last year the period lasted for three weeks.
