Many pro wrestling stars took to Twitter this week to praise WWE Hall of Fame Gerald Briscoe Released from company after 36 years of service.
Dolph Ziegler described how Briscoe, who wanted to get into pro wrestling, did more for himself and other amateur wrestlers.
He wrote, “Thank you for everything you do and to all the other amateur wrestlers who wanted the opportunity to go for me and pro! See you soon, brother!”
Shelton Benjamin has commented on how Briscoe has been a father figure to him since he was first signed by WWE in 2000.

WWE producer Adam Pierce says Briscoe changed his life and even named him a father figure.
“Simply put, Fgbrisco It changed my life. Many would say the same, I believe. I call him my wrestling “dad” because that’s how he sees me. And he never was. My gratitude is endless, in fact it grows as I do. In every sense of the word you are Hoffer, Dad! [folded hands emoji] [heart emoji], “Pierce wrote.
Both Tucker and Otis of Heavy Machinery thanked Brisco for helping them.
Otis wrote, “I love you sir [fist emoji] Thank you and I will always be a Briscoe boy forever “
Tucker added, “I wouldn’t be where I am today without it Fgbrisco I and many others, especially in the amateur wrestling circle, should thank him for our opportunity. @WWE He is a great man with a great heritage. Thank you Mr. Briscoe. “
Impact wrestling star Madman Fulton, formerly known as Sawyer Fulton on WWE NXT, thanked Brisco for changing his life.
“Sucks to hear Fgbrisco Let go. That guy changed my life and I will never stop thanking him #MainEventMonster, “Fulton wrote.
WWE Legends also weighed in on the Briscoe exit. WWE Hall of Fame Mick Foley called Briscoe a tremendous asset to the company, and NXT General Manager William Regal thanked Briscoe for being there during a tough time in his life.
“I’m so sorry to hear that Gerald Briscoe is no more @WWE He is a great man who has been a tremendous asset to the company for 36 years. I loved working with him. Hang in there Fgbrisco “Many of us think of your world,” Foley wrote.
Regal added, “There are not enough words to say thank you for your selfless help, guidance, wisdom and all the friendships you have given me. 21 years ago when I was at my lowest point in my life you were constantly there for me. Thank you my friend.”
WWE Hall of Famer and producer Michael “PS” thanked Hayes Briscoe for the great times they shared and how he and his brother Jack Briscoe helped The Fabulous Freebirds.
“For all the great times Thex Gerald, I believe there are still a few left !! In particular, all over the years for all the ur help and what you and Jack Freebirds have done !!” Hayes wrote.
Briscoe was ousted in April as part of other company-wide cuts brought by COVID-19, but he received a phone call from WWE Chairman Vince McMahon on Wednesday night informing him of the full release. As we have noted, As WWE made 60 employee cuts this week, from producers to staff writers to other office workers. Briscoe has worked as a Talent Scout in recent years.
