The helicopter crashed on Tuesday evening in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Monterrey.
The crash happened in a field on the edge of Carignan, in the territory of Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu, between Highway 35 and Chemin de la Grande Ligne.
The QMI agency was able to note that several police officers and firefighters were working at the scene of the crash in the evening, but the Grande Ligne road was blocked to traffic.
Police in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu said the pilot, a lone man from Carignan, was not injured in the incident, although the plane, which rolled onto its side after the crash, was damaged.
Hydro-Québec confirmed that the helicopter hit wires when it crashed, causing damage to around 200 homes.
“Our teams are on their way to assess the situation,” said Melanie Destremps, a spokeswoman for the state-owned company, adding that recovery time will depend on the severity of the damage.
