While early voting is particularly popular, a voter with reduced mobility in Montreal was forced to turn away Sunday because his polling station could not accommodate him.

In an interview with TVA Nouvelles, the man explained that he was very angry at the lack of measures to help people with reduced mobility.
“The line was long and I had no standing stamina. No chairs at all. I told others about it and no one took action. I turned around, I got out,” said the citizen.
“The lifts are not working. No one has the key,” added the person who was with him.
He criticized the employees of the polling station for their lack of compassion and initiative in helping him discharge his duty as a citizen.
“They told me: ‘We’ll think about it next time.’,” the man said. “They don’t have the heart to find another chair in another place to seat us.”
This is not the first time this has happened and the voter is frustrated. He faced a similar problem during the federal elections a year ago.
“I think this will be the last year. It’s been there. I’ve been caught twice,” he noted.
