There were two reasons why Julien Lacroix and his wife attended the fiery chapel of singer and actor Jean Lapointe Thursday evening. First, Maude Sabbagh knew Jean-Marie Lapoint well, having worked with him on various projects as director, including a documentary program. Across the street Jean Lapointe’s son animates with great sensitivity.
Also, for Julien Lacroix, Maison Jean Lapointe has held an important place in his recovery journey in recent years. The former public figure, who is dedicated to helping people struggling with various addictions, actually spent three weeks at the center.
“First Jean Lapointe, the artist, a monument, explained Julien Lacroix Log. But for me, Maison Jean Lapointe has been important in my career. I did a short 21 day trip there in 2020. Long live Jean Lapointe and his house.
“It was important that we were there to support our friend Jean-Marie, added his lover Maude Sabbagh. I worked with him for many years. We were linked for life. And he met Julien through me and we became very close to him. Jean Lapointe once with Jean-Marie I got a chance to meet. It was a great encounter.”
We can talk about a very busy day for Julien Lacroix, whose public outings have been rare for two years after his reprehensible behavior and denial of sexual misconduct allegations against him.
The 30-year-old comedian announced today that he wants to make a comeback – the first was canceled last July when his family received serious threats – on stage before Christmas. He meets in a bar in Montreal’s Hochelaga—Maisonneuve district—in a question-and-answer formula where “humor and confession” intertwine.
