Air and rail transport: End of vaccination passport

The COVID-19 vaccine passport is no longer mandatory for travel by plane or train across Canada or abroad.

However, proof of vaccination is valid for foreigners wishing to enter the country, but Canadians who have not been adequately vaccinated must comply with screening and quarantine requirements.

According to the Federal Ministry of Transport, in addition to maintaining the ArriveCAN application for foreign travelers, the board is responsible for wearing the mask on planes and trains.

The lifting of these health obligations is unlikely to change anything while waiting at airports, some of which have won with real chaos, but Ottawa indicates a shortage of manpower.

When a resurgence of the virus occurs in the autumn, the federal government does not completely close the possibility of vaccinating civil servants and travelers.

“Vaccination is the most effective way to protect ourselves and our families and communities,” said Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos, who expressed concern that only 60% of Canadians had their third dose.
