Another outreach has been announced in the Bradford Valley Care community

On Wednesday evening, the Simco Muscoca District Health Unit (SMDHU) confirmed the spread of COVID-19 at the Bradford Valley Care Community Long-Term Care Home in the Simco Unit.

Spread when there is at least one case in the staff or resident.

As part of a routine test of the Sienna Living residence, a team member was tested positive for the virus. The team member last worked on the facility on October 5 and is currently home alone.

All residents of the Simco Home area stay in their rooms and receive tray services for their meals.

All staff wear full personal protective equipment for drip and contact precautions.

As a result, Bradford Valley no longer allows regular family visits and unnecessary residential excursions for the entire residence.

“The team in Bradford Valley is doing an excellent job of managing the situation. They are highly skilled in infection control methods and work closely with public health to ensure that all proper precautions and directives are in place,” read a statement from Sienna Living.

Bradford Valley experienced a previous COVID outbreak in the spring. The 246-bed facility saw 42 positive cases, including 35 residents and 11 staff. Twelve residents died before the outbreak was announced on May 20.
