Société des Alcohols did not receive its first Lion8 electric truck when it returned it to Quebec manufacturer Lion Electric.

“It has some problems,” SAQ spokeswoman Genevieve Cormier said. “Whatever the type of electric truck, it must meet our unique requirements in terms of autonomy and heavy load capacity,” she adds.
An executive of the Crown corporation told Radio-Canada on Tuesday that the truck was “undriveable.”
The truck was supplied by SAQ at the time of purchase in 2019, which is due to be received in the same year. Delivery on 7th February due to delay.
“We work in collaboration with the SAQ to ensure the vehicles we put on the road meet customer expectations,” replied Lion spokesman Patrick Gervais.
