Canada National Advisory Committee on Immunization | Two doses are recommended for people infected with the virus

(Ottawa) Canada’s National Advisory Committee on Immunization (NICI) continues to recommend two doses of the vaccine for people previously infected with COVID – 19.

In a statement released on Thursday, “Current data indicate that people with a history of SARS-CoV-2 infection have an immune response after administering a dose of the anti-ovidic vaccine. Two-dose vaccines, but not those with a history of infection”.

“However, there is insufficient data to assess the long-term effectiveness of a single dose in individuals previously infected with SARS-CoV-2, especially in relation to infections that may cause alarming variations in circulation,” NACI adds.

The company reminds people who are already infected to wait until they show severe symptoms and not to have infections before taking their vaccine.

Earlier this month, the Quebec Immunization Committee recommended a second dose of the vaccine for those who had previously been infected with COVID-19 and wanted to travel abroad.

Until then, Quebec did not recommend this second dose for these people, even if it was possible for them to get it.
