The selection committee for Mark Bergewin’s successor has reduced his list to just three, and according to Sports Net Network’s journalist Eric Engels, two former Quebec players appear to have been part of it.

Remember that Dorche was an assistant to Julian Bryce Bois, general manager at Tampa Bay Lightning. Briarre, meanwhile, is head of hockey operations for the Maine Mariners at ECHL.

Both wore blue-white-red uniforms by the end of their hockey careers.

Engels hopes that some of the people who meet HC for a DG job will get other roles in the company. Particularly enthusiastic is the position of recruiting director, formerly Trevor Timmins, which is undoubtedly highly respected.

Over the past two weeks, the committee, comprising Geoff Molson, Jeff Gorton, Bob Gaini and Michael Andler, has met with a dozen candidates, including former goalkeepers Patrick Roy and Roberto Luongo.

Hubs’ decision may be known in the coming days, several media reported.
