As Kovid faces an increase in infections, the Prime Minister is reminding citizens to be careful, respect health measures and think of lonely people.

“Hello everyone,

Today and tomorrow, most of us will have the opportunity to recharge our batteries. Even if we do not have the meetings we like, we can still enjoy these precious moments.

If you decide to stay with people outside of your bubble, I urge you to be very careful. The Omicron variant is far more contagious than what we have seen since the outbreak began. I hope your judgment to respect the instructions and be careful.

Christmas is an opportunity to think about others. You have to think about lonely people, for whom the situation is even more painful. Please take the time to call and contact the lonely people around you. This is a small gesture that can do a lot of good.

We should also think about the workers who need to be loyal to the job during the holiday season. Nurses, doctors, social workers, police. Demonstrated immense courage and dedication for almost two years. They deserve our gratitude.

The next few weeks are going to be tough. Even when we are tired, it is important to continue our efforts and stay together. I miss you.

Take care of yourself and enjoy your Christmas anyway.

Your Prime Minister ”
