COVID-19: 28 deaths and 2,183 new cases in Quebec | Corona virus

Public health also reported 28 new deaths, bringing the total number of deaths from COVID-19 to 7,794 since last February.

Of the 28 deaths recorded, 10 occurred in the last 24 hours, 14 between December 15 and 20, 1 before December 15 and 3 on an unknown date.

Of the total 1,055 patients bedridden due to COVID-19, the number of hospital admissions increased by 7 compared to the previous day’s data. Of these, 137 were being treated in intensive care, 9 less than the day before.

Testing efforts are underway across the province with 26,130 tests completed by December 20th.

This brings the total number of samples taken in Quebec to 4,612,006 since the outbreak began.

A total of 437 doses of the vaccine were given on Monday in Quebec, bringing the total to 5,273 since the vaccine campaign began on December 14th.

Laval and Montreal are still in the lead

With regard to the spread of the disease, the most active cases of COVID-19 are still in Laval, with a rate of 331.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, followed by Montreal with a ratio of 307.5 active cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

The Capitol-National and Sagune-Lock-Saint-Jean areas come in with 287.6 and 261.9 active cases per 100,000 residents, respectively. Lanadier is in fifth place with a rate of 235.2.

For the whole of Quebec, the active case rate per 100,000 residents is currently 220.3, according to daily public health data.
