COVID-19: 8,231 new cases in Quebec

The number of hospital admissions in Quebec has increased significantly in recent days, with a total of 614 beds in departments dedicated to COVID-19.

Admissions to hospitals are on the rise, Health and Social Services Minister Christian Dube reported on Twitter on Monday.

Since December 22, 141 new patients have been registered in the province, according to figures released by the minister. And the data has risen particularly in the last two days, with another 45 on Saturday and 44 on Sunday.

About 109 Quebeckers are also in intensive care. “We need to limit contacts,” Mr Dubey said in a tweet.

La Belle Province in particular recorded 8,231 new cases and 10 additional deaths, a slight increase from the daily total of 7,874 infections mentioned the day before.

Approximately 55% of children aged 5 to 11 years received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while 13% of qualified Cubans have already reached for their booster dose.

More than 45,000 doses of the vaccine are also being administered in the most populous province, the minister said on Twitter.
