Bombardier announced on Monday the launch of the Global 8000, which it claims to be “the fastest aircraft in civil aviation after Concorde”.
With a range of 8,000 nautical miles (approximately 14,800 km / h), the new aircraft can reach Mach 0.94 (1,160 km / h), an approximate speed of speed (1235 km / h).
During testing in 2021, the aircraft slightly exceeded the speed of sound, reaching Mach 1.015.
“During this demonstration, the aircraft became the first transport-category aircraft to reach supersonic speeds using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF),” Bombardier said while introducing its new model on Monday.
In addition to its performance on the plane, the aircraft promises increased comfort to its passengers, which includes the features of the Global 7500 range.
“The Global 8000 aircraft has benefited from the unique features of the Global 7500 aircraft and is a new age flagship aircraft for our customers. We are incomparable, it’s extraordinary for a team to focus on innovations like ours, ”said Bombardier President and CEO Eric Martel.
