The medical and military worlds already know them well. But now exoskeletons are also becoming a reality at many construction sites in Quebec.
Many companies are seeing enormous potential in this. Most of them are investing large sums of money to acquire such equipment.
This is because these technological innovations allow us to work faster and more safely with less effort.
The Atville-Morin Group, which specializes in the renovation of heritage buildings, has invested just tens of thousands of dollars to buy some exoskeletons.
“At a time when the health and safety of our workers is becoming a very important issue, we have had to find an unprecedented solution to equally specific problems,” said Atwil-Morin Group President Matthew Atwil-Morin.
According to him, the use of exoskeletons ensures that the pressure on the body members, especially the knees, is relieved, as well as the loads are well distributed.
Bricklayer-Mason’s job is not without risk. Matthew Atwil-Morin believes that the arrival of exoskeletons at his sites will significantly reduce the number of work hazards.
