The measure, announced on July 19, applies to all foreign nationals.

Travelers must demonstrate that they have received all recommended doses of one of the vaccines approved by the Government of Canada for at least 14 days, namely Pfizer, Modernna, Astrogenica or Johnson & Johnson.

Passengers are required to provide a valid COVID-19 nuclear test result 72 hours prior to arrival at the scheduled flight or land border crossing or 14 to 180 days prior to departure for Canada.

“Antigen detection tests, often referred to as ‘rapid tests’,” the Canadian public health agency said in a statement on Friday.

Passengers must also be asymptomatic and must have the Arrivecon app, which must submit passenger information in advance.

Additional testing may also be required upon entry into Canada.

In addition, children under 12 do not need to be detained for 14 days if their parents or guardians are fully immunized. However, with the exception of those under 5 years of age, screening tests should be performed on the first and eighth day of adolescence.
