Gérard Deltel told Stefan Bureau that it is sometimes difficult to assert himself as a conservative activist in a country where he is not, but that there is no need to be ashamed of advocating these far-right or center-right ideas.

There’s no shame in thinking that we can develop the full potential of the natural resources that we have here in Quebec and do it smartly and properly. That’s who we are. Let’s be proud and conservative values are the same,” said the MP, who is completely at ease in his party.
After this interview the panelists reacted strongly.

Guy Nantel, for his part, sympathized with Gerard Deltel on Friday evening, stressing that the party was fighting a break. “This party has reached a dead end when it no longer has anything to do with the economic right it has. We are not in the conservatism we have already seen with Brian Mulroney. He opined that there is a danger that this party will split and give birth to a new party.
