As of Thursday afternoon, health experts in Ontario had administered nearly 200,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, a record since the vaccination process began in the province.

The final record was reached on May 22, with 190,129 doses being sanctioned in a single day.

Overall, Ontario has given 10.8 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and is accelerating the delivery of second-dose doses.

Of those vaccinated, 1.5 million received the two doses required by the manufacturers for complete immunity.

However, 37% of the population has not yet taken the dose.

Ontario Public Health on Friday reported 574 new cases of COVID-19, up from 538,651 the previous day.

Health officials counted 137,307 confirmed cases of variant B.1.1.7, which originated in the United Kingdom. They also counted 4,099 confirmed cases of the P1 variant (Brazil) and 1,128 confirmed cases of the B13351 variant (South Africa).

The province has condemned four new deaths caused by coronavirus on Thursday. Ontario, 8.935 people were killed due to this infectious disease.

As of Thursday, 489 people were being treated for COVID-19 symptoms at the hospital and 440 were in intensive care. This is the first time since November 22, 2020 that the number of hospital admissions for the virus has dropped below the 500-patient mark.

Public Health conducted 29,000 tests during the day on Thursday for Kovid-19.
