Health professionals and technicians were on strike Monday and Tuesday

The 60,000 members of the Alliance of Professional and Technical Personnel in Health and Social Services (APTS) will hold a two-day general strike on June 7 and 8 in all parts of Quebec.

The union said they would take the opportunity to denounce the Legalt government’s “unstable position” in the event of renewing their collective agreement.

Professors and technicians maintain a picket line in front of organizations in the health and social services network throughout Quebec.

When the strike days were announced in May, the union explained that it had not reached an agreement with the government to “take constructive steps to address the problems of work overload and to attract and retain staff”.

“It’s not only about getting better working conditions and recognizing the skills of our members we are going on strike, it is also about protecting quality public services for the entire population of Quebec.”

APTS members work primarily in the areas of diagnosis, rehabilitation, nutrition, psychosocial intervention, clinical support and prevention.
