A California skydiving student came close to disaster Monday when he became entangled in power lines while skydiving.
According to KNBC television, the unidentified skydiver missed his planned landing zone in Riverside County, United States when he became entangled in power lines.
“I was trying to avoid that power line, and then I turned right and hit another power line,” she said.
“I don’t know if I will jump again. Probably not,” she added.
In a series of tweets, Riverside County firefighters were able to extricate the woman using an aerial ladder. After the rescue, she was evaluated and refused further medical treatment.
“She was disoriented and turned in the wrong direction. She was stuck on top of a power pole with power lines and she was hanging next to a transformer,” Jeff Roberts of the Lake Elsinore Fire Department told SF Gate.
Firefighters told SF Gate it was the second time in a year they responded to a call involving a paratrooper and power lines.
