Artificial intelligence is a “double-edged sword,” says Qubeser Mati Roy, technical program manager at OpenAI, the organization that developed ChatGPIT.

“It's like nuclear power. It can be used very well or badly,” declared the specialist in an interview on the “Le Bilan” show.
According to him, developments around artificial intelligence lead to the arrival of a new risk category, as they are slowly becoming autonomous.
“ChatGPT already has some primitive trials for browsing the web and browsing autonomously, maybe with a Bitcoin address that has its own financial system. Right now, it's not working very well, but I don't think it will be long before we have fully autonomous artificial intelligence,” explained Mati Roy.
The latter is also responsible for training the ChatGPT to learn and adopt ideal behavior with human values.
Mr. Roy opined that regulation of artificial intelligence remains a major challenge.
“I think this is one of the biggest problems facing humanity right now,” the specialist said.
“If we fail to manage this technology, we will have to redistribute these resources to humans rather than artificial intelligence. […] I think humanity is going to disappear,” he says.
Mati Roy suggests that Homo sapiens were slightly more intelligent than Neanderthals. Currently, humans are causing the disappearance of many species, he also noted.
Mr. Roy believes that with artificial intelligence, the level of superiority will lead to more serious consequences.
“If this is not controlled, I think we are going to face the total extinction of all living species,” he declared.
