In early June, the 28-year-old artist announced on Instagram that he was suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that causes paralysis on one side of the face and is caused by the reactivation of the chicken pox or shingles virus.
Justin Bieber put his “Justice World Tour” on hiatus for several weeks before resuming in Europe and most recently at the Big Rock in Rio festival in Brazil.
“This weekend I gave everything for the Brazilians (but) when I left the stage I was tired and I realized that my health should be a priority,” he wrote on his Instagram account.
“So I’m going to take a break from my tour, for now (…) it’s going to be fine, but I need to rest to feel better”, the “Peaches” singer continued without giving a date. I am back for his concerts which are scheduled to take place till next March.
His “Justice World Tour” was abruptly interrupted in New York in June, and several concerts in the United States and Canada were canceled.
Justin Bieber’s tour, which will never resume, has already been postponed twice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Canadian was nominated in eight categories at last April’s Grammy Awards, but did not win any awards. He received two throughout his career.
In addition to facial nerve palsy, Ramsay Hunt syndrome (discovered by an American neurologist of the same name in 1907) causes skin rashes affecting the ear or mouth.
