Lake Manoane | Located in Haute Marisee, the Kanawata outfitter has a lot to offer you with many species including lakes in the region. The quality of services provided is also a factor that fights in favor of this exceptional site.
The maker of this outfit was born in the mid-70s. At that time, the first owners used the old logging camps located in one of the bays of Lake Manowan. It is now the property of Mr. Matthew Grenier.
“Today, as you can see, things have changed a lot when we look at past photos,” explains Mario Venne, the outfitter's manager for 25 years. The current owner decided to bring the site back to life by carrying out several renovations. He decided to make clothing available for die-hard anglers and small families.
This is my first stay in this outfit. On reaching the site, I was impressed by its beauty, services offered and quality of infrastructure. The inn dominates the landscape on the edge of Lake Manowan.
“Fans have a choice between the auberge we offer on the full American plan, which can accommodate up to 22 people, and the fully equipped chalets on the European plan.”
fishing
So there, the choice is very impressive for fly fishermen and fans of light spinning fishing.
“In the outfitter's territory, in the big Lake Manuan or other small lakes, we offer a lot of variety to the fishermen,” explained the manager. We fish for pike, walleye, local speckled trout and lake trout or lake trout.
During our stay, we decided to fish for pike and walleye. In the case of the pike, the guide moved us one Spot Fishing for another so we can foil larger specimens. My adventure partner Yvan Théberge got lucky with a 36-inch pike that weighed ten pounds. He used silver and blue Williams. For walleye, in the company of Mario Venne, I tried my luck trolling with a yellow hot'n tot, which produced very good results. This allowed us to find out where the walleye was in size. We then chose the jig. I used a yellow tail jig head. The results were immediate. A truly great walleye fishing adventure.
For fishing, you can use your own boat on the large lake, or else, one of the motorized rowboats or one of the pontoons available for rent. These boats are ideal for a small family or a group of friends who want to fish together. Guide service is also available by reservation.
activities
On site, there are many activities for visitors to do.
“For smaller families, it's possible to pick mushrooms and blueberries, not forgetting the paddle boards, pedal boats and more available on site. We are working on setting up an interpretation circuit which, when completed, will be accessible by fatbike for the whole family,” explained Mr Venne. The current owner wants to continue developing the site to offer packages.
The outfitter is also recognized by quad riders and snowmobilers who visit it regularly to take advantage of a variety of services such as full packages and gas. Fans can fill their vehicle themselves, using a pump located in towns, directly using their card, a rare service in the wild.
So, whether you are fishermen, hikers, quad riders, snowmobilers or nature watchers, you will definitely find the package you are looking for at Kanavata Apparel, with great services and a team of employees ready to work at all times. . It is truly extraordinary to find such a place in the middle of nowhere.
