Luggage crisis: Montreal-Trudeau “planes may leave this summer”

The CEO of Montreal-Trudeau Airport, Philippe Rainville, is studying the option of canceling several flights over the summer to fix a number of issues with suitcases.

“I can tell you that we are seriously considering reducing the offer for travel. Maybe for a while, we’ll have to leave some flights and cancel destinations in the summer, ”Mr Rain‌ville explained.

The customer experience, which has been very influential since the resumption of the journey, is forcing leaders to resolve the issue.

“This is not a unique situation for Montreal, our entire airport system and it includes government agencies and airlines. Everyone is involved in this problem of rapid returns after shortages,” the CEO said.

While on TVA Nouvelles, Mr. Rainville explained that despite this complex problem, his team needs to do a better job of improving the passenger experience.

“It’s not that easy, we have flights from Europe without suitcases,” he explained. “The luggage arrives the next day and we need to make sure their suitcases that are being connected get their equipment at a reasonable time, but even in this case where there is a shortage of workers there are our mistakes.”
