Prokop was traded early in the season to the Edmonton Oil Kings, his hometown junior team of the Western Hockey League (WHL). In 58 games, the defenseman scored a career-high 11 goals and 35 points in 2021-22.
Oh, and the Oil Kings won the WHL Championship a few weeks ago. 4 goals and 12 assists in 19 playoff games – thanks in part to a performance by Prokop on the ice.
“I don’t think I’ll be able to write a screenplay this year,” he explained in an interview with Prokop Press. The title, “It’s the icing on the cake”.
Luke Prokop is a 20-year-old Nashville Predators prospect. He is also an openly gay hockey player under contract with an NHL team.
He was just named Humanitarian Player of the Year in the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). Prokop received the same honor at the WHL level last May.
