Mexico | Mexico has asked Canada to reverse its decision to suspend flights to the Latin American country, citing a “serious financial crisis”.

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced on Friday that he was tightening restrictions on entry into Canada and suspending flights to Mexico and the Caribbean until April 30 in an effort to stem the spread of the coronavirus.
The Mexican government hopes to withdraw the measure as soon as possible to avert a severe financial crisis in the region, ”the State Department said in a statement.
Mexico, Canada and the United States are part of the North American T-MEC trade agreement.
As of Friday, there were more than 769,000 cases of coronavirus and 19,000 deaths in Canada, with Mexico infecting 1.8 million people on Thursday and a total of 155,100 deaths.
