Let's talk about the fate of the disabled.

On reaching 65 years of age, you will receive a letter from the government that the retirement pension will be reduced.

In fact, the government imposes a penalty on these disabled workers as they treat them as prematurely retired workers at the age of 60.

Since when do we pick on the disabled?

This penalty is unfair and discriminatory!

How can you retire early, without working?

Can the State of Quebec modify the meaning of an invalid term at will?

In 2020, Mr. Richard McLean, himself disabled by a stroke, had the courage to challenge the law, which would cut his pension by 36% and deprive him of a significant portion of income.

In 2022, before being medically assisted while dying, he succeeded.

The penalty on his retirement pension will be reduced from 36% to 24%.

Since then, others have continued Mr McLean's fight.

The “frontline invalids” movement is leading the fight to definitively end this reduction in their retirement pensions.

Lack of family doctors and home care available.

Waiting lists are growing.

Our seniors often feel left out and a disability makes them even more isolated.

It is common to say that a society is judged by the way it treats its elders.

Why penalize our disabled seniors, Mr. Legault?
