North Korea launches ‘unidentified projectile’

North Korea fires unidentified projectile, South Korean military says Friday, Pyongyang’s third test in 10 days.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said the projectile was aimed at the East Korean Peninsula.

Pyongyang launched two missiles provided by North Korea as hypersonic, the first on January 5 and the second on January 11.

The Japanese Coast Guard said it had detected “one or more ballistic missiles fired by North Korea at 2:55 p.m.”

A Coast Guard spokesman told AFP they were still evaluating where he had fallen and would determine if it was a single object or several.

Despite international sanctions against its banned weapons programs. Pyongyang has already launched two missiles, demonstrated hypersonically, since the beginning of the year. The first is on January 5th and the second is on January 11th.

North Korea imposes five sanctions on North Korea over missile program as a result of a second test overseen by leader Kim Jong Un.

A North Korean foreign ministry spokesman accused the United States of “deliberately” exacerbating the situation.

“If the United States adopts such a confrontational stance, the DPRK (Democratic People’s Republic of Korea) will have to respond more forcefully and more specifically,” a spokesman for the KCNA news agency said.
