In early December, TVA Novelles reported that the number of illegal immigrants entering the country through this route had been rising for several weeks after the US reopened its border with Canada.
Politicians in Ottawa and Quebec have demanded that this be stopped again, but that the federal government once again allow immigrants to enter through this illegal route, especially in the case of the Omicron variant.
