Quebec: Deloitte drops drops

Professional services firm Deloitte sells 22 of its 26 offices in Quebec to Alberta MNP. About 500 people will be affected by this guard change.

Since last fall, rumors have been circulating in the community that the company has sought to dismantle some of its operations in the province to focus on its major markets.

The company has so far declined to confirm. On Thursday, the communication team did not even respond to interview requests Journal On this subject. A press release was finally released on Friday morning.

In total, MNP, a professional services company, will buy 25 offices in Canada with 900 employees. In Quebec, Deloitte has bases in Quebec, Montreal, Brosard and Laval.

The transaction amount was not disclosed. It should be completed around 1^Is Mars.

Over the past few days, many colleagues have informed their clients about this banner change. Many employees also learned of the news earlier this week.

MNP said it was significantly expanding its presence in Quebec with the acquisition. The accounting firm already has offices in Montreal and Laval. In this way the company improves its audit and tax service submissions.

However, the press release did not indicate whether the MNP plans to retain all the offices and workers involved in the transaction.

Competition Bureau Canada must now approve the transaction, which should have no effect on consumers.

Deloitte will have about 11,000 workers in Canada once the deal expires.
