Would you trust a restaurant that requires you to sign a liability waiver before serving your meal? This is what an American experienced recently when he visited the Hilton Hotel in Toronto.
Reddit user, Reit007, explained with a photo that he ordered a hamburger at a Hilton Hotel restaurant last week. The internet user explained that he wanted it cooked “medium”, a request the waitress accepted without saying a word.
However, after bringing him his hamburger and allowing the tourist to take a bite, the waitress returned with a waiver to sign to clear the hotel restaurant of any fault if the man ever became ill after the meal. The employee explained that the restaurant always serves its hamburgers cooked to perfection and therefore makes those who request undercooking sign a waiver.
“I was shocked,” the man exclaimed in his post, noting that he paid and left without finishing his dish.
The Hilton chain confirmed to CTN News that when a customer orders a meal cooked below the minimum temperature recommended by food safety laws in Ontario, a waiver is indeed provided to the customer to sign.
