A few months late, Quebec City began replacing its parking terminals with outdated ones.
The new parking terminals were planned to open in November 2023, but had to be postponed due to delivery times from the new supplier, California company IPS Group Inc. The city also hopes to take advantage of the mild weather for the launch. Avoid cold related problems.
It will cost Quebec City $3.3 million to replace the old terminals, which were acquired in 2012 and are already obsolete.

IPS Group describes itself as a leader in smart parking data management technologies and systems.

The new terminals allow payment technology based on license plates and not parking space numbers as before. The change will allow motorists to move their car if they have time to spare without having to pay again.
Future terminals will be equipped with solar screening. They allow contactless payments by currency, by credit card, by debit card and have the option of payment by QR code.

During the replacement, the City will ensure that the parking terminal is available at all times for persons who do not have access to the Co-Pilot application.
