She is the favorite against Democrat Chris Jones in the state, where her father, Mike Huckabee, a veteran of American politics, was governor from 1996 to 2007.

During her campaign, Sarah Sanders, 40, blamed President Joe Biden and his “radical left” policies, citing runaway inflation, “open borders” and “rising violent crime.”

She said she was ready to “join a coalition of strong conservative governors who stand up for our freedoms.”

As a spokeswoman in the White House, she is often questioned about Donald Trump’s aggressive rhetoric toward the media. She has been criticized for her assumptions and understatements during her sometimes tense talks with journalists.

A mother of three, she often spoke from the press room about her family and her faith.

When announcing her departure in the summer of 2019, Donald Trump long praised the fighting spirit of this “warrior” and judged that she would be “awesome” as governor of Arkansas.
