The Montreal-based company said Monday it will provide engineering services for three hydropower projects in Pennsylvania to include power plants to sites owned by the United States Army Corps of Engineers.

Ian Edwards, president and CEO of the U.S., said in a statement that the agreement was part of the company’s strategy to increase its hydropower capacity.

The Rye Development Agreement will also go hand in hand with sustainable development efforts to modernize and rehabilitate existing dams.

Paul Jacob, CEO of Rye Development, said the goal of these projects was to provide reliable and renewable energy to the Pittsburgh area.

The contract, not specified, includes construction project data modeling (BIM) technology, field studies, environmental assessment and permitting.
