A new flavor from the Doritos and Cheetos brands is so spicy that workers at a factory in Australia are struggling to work in healthy conditions.
A A complaint has been sent to Safework, a government agency A number of workers through the union suffered from side effects such as persistent coughing, violent sneezing, skin rashes and sore throats.
It is Smith's Snackfoods Company, a subsidiary of multinational PepsiCo that produces “Flamin' Hot” chips, that is the subject of the complaint.
“Employees raised significant safety concerns regarding improper handling of strong products and irritant substances,” reads a document filed on behalf of Guangzhou Chen.
“The spice is dispersed from the production area of the spice machine.”

According to the complaint, 11 of the 13 workers interviewed reported various side effects.

A PepsiCo spokesperson told the outlet the guardian The safety of its employees is the company's top priority.
“We follow several safety procedures and protocols while producing products containing spicy spices,” the spokesperson said.
SafeWork is reviewing the union's complaint to determine whether additional measures may apply.
An earlier complaint filed by the union in January alleged accumulation of spice dust, but did not mention any harmful effects on workers' health.
