STAT production responds to repeated criticisms from viewers

STATThe news daily from Radio-Canada has been the talk of the town since its first episodes aired this week.

After just a few episodes, netizens were quick to point out that many of the characters and the fast pace of the hospital world enjoyed it. However, some are criticizing the starring TV series Suzanne ClementThis environment is precisely the odds depicted.

on the Facebook page of STATA comment addressing these inconsistencies in hospital center logistics generated a lot of reactions and involved production.

“There are so many inconsistencies, it’s unbelievable. Do you have medical advisors? A person who enters a coma with a bullet in the head should be in intensive care. On the production side, she replied:

“We have many consultants, but we make choices related to the structure of the fiction. We don’t want to have 8 sets for 8 different units and 12 nurses to represent the real organization chart of the hospital center. You end up with some role shows depending on the case: gynecology, orthopedics, Psychiatry, oncology and no recurring characters, everyone changes positions. In short, these are not inconsistencies, this is a fiction and this is a respectable shooting logistics. We cannot be representative at this time. »

Despite the negative comments, the team also receives many comments from viewers who understand that it is fictional.

“You should invite critics to come to one of your shoots, maybe they’ll realize what it’s like to make a TV series with all the limitations. Because judging the work of a production team without knowing a day in their shoes is no better than judging the work of health care workers without experiencing it,” said one viewer.

“I understand your point, yes it’s a great idea, but despite the choices we have to make in terms of reality, people who are less happy are rewarded instead of people who actually enjoy the work. . It’s easy to understand, there are “making off” type shoots all over the web. If someone doesn’t understand that you can’t reproduce an entire hospital in fiction and have a character that represents all the stakeholders in the hospital specifically in their positions, then there is a problem. Is 30 Lives unrealistic because we only see two classes and never or almost no physical education classes? It’s realistic in a number documentary. Borderline? Not anymore. Unfortunately, this kind of criticism is common in health, police or legal series (we know what we’re talking about). In this environment workers rarely or rarely question the authenticity of the product.
