A New York man has been arrested last month in connection with a case of assault on Rick Moranis
NEW YORK – A 67-year-old actor was arrested Saturday in New York on charges of not assaulting Rick Moranis while walking near Central Park in October.
Marquis Ventura, 35, who was listed as homeless by authorities, was arrested Saturday afternoon, New York City police said. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post.
Moranis, best known for his roles in the 1980s sketch comedy series “Second City Television” and “Ghostbusters,” “Space Balls” and “Honey I Shrank the Kids”, was walking on a sidewalk near Central Park in the morning when he was attacked on October 1.
In a video released by police, a man wearing a black “I (heart) NY” sweatshirt hit Moranis with a sucker punch and knocked him to the ground.
Police did not identify Moranis at the time, but Moranis spokesman Troy Bailey confirmed that the actor had been assaulted. Police described it as a “random, unprovoked attack”.
