“Having been in a serious crisis recently, I now understand that I suffer from complex mental health issues and have begun to seek treatment,” the artist said in a statement sent to AFP by his representatives.
Ezra Miller, 29, who previously played the role of ‘The Flash’ in several major productions such as ‘Justice League’, was charged in early August with burglary in Vermont and two counts of public disorder following arrests in Hawaii.
The incidents — including a physical altercation with a woman in Iceland that did not lead to a complaint — have raised questions about the future of “The Flash” and its career beyond.
“I want to apologize to all those who I may have worried and upset because of my past behavior”, adds the press release, in which the incarnation of “Flash” confirms that he wants to “do what is necessary to reconnect. A healthy, safe and productive period of (his) life”.
Despite these controversies, Warner Bros. recently confirmed plans to air “The Flash” next summer.
The shooting of this movie, which is being made with a budget of 200 million dollars, has already been completed.
Ezra Miller found early success with his roles in hit dramas such as “Afterschool”, “We Need to Talk About Kevin” and “Charlie’s World”.
The artist, who presents himself as non-binary, portrayed the superhero Flash in several films in 2016 and 2017 in Marvel’s rival DC Comics universe.
