The harbor may have been linked to an unidentified case of COVID-19 in Breton: authorities

Two recent cases of COVID-19 in the Harbor Breton area may have been linked to a case previously unknown to public health officials.

Health Chief Medical Officer Dr. Janice Fitzgerald presented the update today.

Both cases involved staff at a health center in Harbor Breton, including a health care worker. Dr. Fitzgerald referred to these cases as epidemiologically linked cases by public health officials.

This indicates that they are unaware of the COVID-19 case. Asymptomatic, they may have left the province before being diagnosed, or they may not have been tested for the common cold.

Fitzgerald was prompted to issue another reminder to anyone experiencing symptoms to get tested. Better precautions will remain in Harbor Breton వరకు until public health officials are confident that the risk of transmission will be reduced.

Nine new recoveries, one new case

Today there is a new confirmed case in this province.

The case is related to travel and a person between the ages of 20 and 39 in the Eastern Health Region is not a resident of this province. He came to Newfoundland and Labrador from Asia.

Nine new recoveries have been made, with 20 active cases in the province.
