Vivo announced its new Android based operating system at its annual developer conference in China. Originos is the successor of Fantouchos and has a complete design integrity that prioritizes widgets, arranging them in a grid-like layout. Widgets can update themselves with “nano alerts” notifications.
“The birth of Originos centers around three frontiers based on the demands of smartphone users: design, sensitivity and convenience,” Vivo said in a statement. “Originos repeats familiar features with new exciting designs to create the ultimate smartphone experience.”
Of All skin versions of Android, Vivo’s Fantouchos has long been on the roll for iOS, with similar notification design, use of color palettes and transparency. The original tile-based approach to widgets is not a million miles away Apple introduced iOS 14 this year, Although it is not a very unique design. Vivo says it was inspired by Huang Dao, the Chinese variant of the Klotsky sliding black puzzles.
With low RAM requirements, Vivo claims that Originos is much less resource-intensive than Fantouchos. We’ll have to test it out for ourselves once it comes out, but there’s little information on that – Vivo said nothing about the release date. However, the company showed a mockup of the OS running on it The current X50 flagship phone (Above).
