WD Black SN850 2TB Test: Very fast SSD not afraid of heatstroke

The WD states in its documentation that the 2DB SN850 can achieve 7 GB / s sequential read and 5.1 GB / s of writing. Under Benchmark, We achieve these values, the tested SN850 surpassed these figures by hair: 7.1 GB / s reading and 5.2 GB / s writing on average. However, this model did not reach the observed values Corsair MP600 Pro 2 TB (7.1 GB / s and 6.9 GB / s). Random access to small files also gives good results (915 KIOPS read and 716 KIOPS write – SLC cache active).

With a large file queue (64GB versus 1GB in the first round tests), the result is once again very good. Sequential output is 4.25 Gb / s read and 5.2 Gb / s Right. Corsair’s SSD, MP600 Pro’s contact actions again, however, show that the writing is faster – this also applies to random access.

Finally, our manual copy test also gives a good result. As always with PCI 4.0 SSDs, copying a single file does not really allow SSDs to be fully expressed – SSDs are more convenient for managing multiple files in parallel. However, we achieve 1.7 GB / s read and 1.8 GB / s write.
