Alan White, drummer who worked with John Lennon’s Plastic Ono Band and has been part of the British Progressive Rock Band Yes since 1972, has died.
Britain died at his home in Seattle, Washington, at the age of 72 from a brief illness.
Alan White, a native of Pelton, County Durham, joined Yes in 1972 to replace Bill Brufford, who decided to play for King Crimson.
The drummer stepped into the recording with the double album Stories from Topographic Oceans. He was on all of the production’s albums until the last Opus, QuestLaunched in October 2021.
