A Qatar Airways flight from Doha to Dublin injured 12 people after turbulence over Turkey on Sunday, Ireland's capital airport said.
“Six passengers and six crew members (12 people in total) reported injuries during turbulence while the flight was flying over Turkey,” Dublin Airport X (formerly Twitter) said, without specifying the severity of the injuries.
The Qatar Airways flight “landed safely at Dublin Airport this Sunday at 1 p.m. (8 a.m. Eastern time),” the airport said.
Emergency services including airport police and fire and rescue services were mobilized.
“The Dublin Airport team continues to provide full support to passengers and airline staff,” the source added.
The incident comes after a 73-year-old British man died due to severe turbulence on a Singapore Airlines flight between London and Singapore on Tuesday. About 100 people were injured, many with skull, brain and spinal injuries.
Photos taken inside a Singapore Airlines flight after landing in Bangkok show the topsy-turvy cabin, crammed with food, drinks and luggage, with oxygen masks hanging from the ceiling.
